Primarily an interior design project, this was the third project consisting of renovations to the Canteens of UNISA’s Muckleneuk Campus.
Working under the direction of Scarab Projects (Interior Designers) the project was undertaken from design stage to completion. Some existing items such as wood panelling on the perimeters were retained and restored, and a contemporary feel given to the main space.
Suspended “Solo” Acoustic absorptive panels from Saint-Gobain Ecophon were used for a lighter look on the central area, while Saint-Gobain “Gedina” drop-in acoustic panels were used in the grid ceilings.
The restaurant name became the inspiration for the over-sized wallpaper and the corresponding coloured walls in teal, blue and white, with gold trim.
